My experience was the exact opposite at the second one of my chosen restaurants. Here, the manager said he wasn’t at liberty to let out the secret restaurant recipes! He was extremely polite in his refusal and would tell me nothing more than the list of ingredients, not even their quantities or proportion in use.

The third restaurant I approached had a manager who said he couldn’t give me the recipe and asked me to talk to the cook instead. The cook told me all about the ingredients used, how they were to be used and in what proportion, how the cooking was to be done, but left out 2 secret spices. He wasn’t allowed to reveal the names of these spices as they were what imparted the dish their unique flavor and made customers come back for more. That’s what I call SECRET restaurant recipes
